Tricolor design with the original logo: NISMO heritage edition

Created to mark the 40th anniversary of NISMO in 2024, this timepiece pays tribute to the race cars that claimed titles between 1984 and 1997 — an era defined by the original NISMO logo. The red, blue, and white tricolor, along with the signature oval logo, reflect the NISMO racing spirit. Developed with full support from Nissan and NISMO, the timepiece was designed through close study of real racing machines and interviews with key team members.

Tricolor design honoring NISMO origins

Inspired by the color scheme of the original NISMO logo used from 1984 to 1997, the red, blue, and white tricolor recalls legendary works machines like the R91CP, which claimed the first victory for a Japanese car at the 24 Hours of Daytona in 1992. The color scheme brings back the bold presence NISMO made known worldwide.

Original NISMO logo, a lasting symbol of glory

At the center of the dial, the original oval NISMO logo stands out. Inspired by the illuminated car numbers seen during the night stages of endurance races, the logo features a luminescent finish that glows in the dark. A tribute to the origin of NISMO, this design honors a symbol of racing glory passed down over four decades, captured in true EDIFICE style.

Memorial design honoring racing legends

The band is printed with the chassis codes of past race cars that earned titles while bearing the original NISMO logo, celebrating the proud history of the first era of NISMO (1984–1997). At the tip of the band is a special design inspired by the koinobori carp streamer — a fan-favorite motif shown at May races in Japan. The design is filled with subtle details sure to delight NISMO enthusiasts.

A tribute to the legendary Calsonic Skyline

A subtle but singular detail pays homage to the R32 Skyline GT-R — the iconic Calsonic Skyline that dominated the racing scene of the 1990s in its striking blue racing livery. The word “SAPPHIRE,” referencing the watch crystal, is styled in a color and a font that recall the car’s windshield decal, capturing the spirit of the original machine.

The band design draws inspiration from racing suits worn in endurance races during the 1980s, which featured the original NISMO logo. Red and blue lines stand out against a white base, with a distinctive striped loop adding a subtle accent. The top of the band is finished with genuine white leather, while the underside features suede-like synthetic leather — dyed red on the short strap and blue on the long strap.

NISMO, inheriting Nissan's motorsport tradition dating back to 1936, was established in 1984. Through domestic and international racing activities, high-performance models, and the development of customization parts, it offers the joy and excitement of driving while striving to enhance the value of the "NISMO" brand.
