Pro basketball player Rui Hachimura’s fifth signature model

Casio has joined forces with Rui Hachimura, an athlete competing on the world’s highest stage, to present the fifth signature model designed under his supervision. Based on the GM-5600, known for its distinctive metal bezel, this special edition pairs a base color of powerful black with accents of vivid, passionate red. Hachimura’s original logo and signature grace the design in multiple places.

Hachimura’s signature logo communicates his identity

Hachimura’s signature “Black Samurai” logo graces the top of the face and the case back. It combines the kanji character 八 (hachi in Japanese, meaning “eight”), with an image of a Japanese sword, forming an “H” motif for “Hachimura.” His signature is also engraved in the metal band loop.

Black with red accents: Expressing the strength and passion to take on the world

Striking accents of vibrant red stand out against the otherwise all-black design. The G-SHOCK brand color symbolizes the strength and passion Hachimura demonstrates in his ongoing pursuit of ever greater heights. Ion-plating (IP) is applied to metal components including the bezel, enhancing the texture and adding a refined touch.

The watch is presented in specially designed packaging, well-suited for a collaboration model.

Rui Hachimura

Born February 8, 1998, in Toyama Prefecture. Hachimura began playing basketball in earnest in middle school. While at Meisei High School in Miyagi Prefecture, he led his team to three consecutive victories in the All-Japan High-School Tournament. While still a student, he was selected as a candidate to play for Japan’s national team. In 2016, Hachimura attended Gonzaga University in the U.S., a school with a highly respected basketball University in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). In his third season as a key player, the Gonzaga Bulldogs made it to the Elite Eight in the NCAA tournament, and he won the Julius Erving award as the best small forward that season. In 2019, Hachimura became the first Japanese national ever to be taken in the first round of the NBA draft, and joined the Washington Wizards. He played in 48 of 72 games his rookie season, and his stellar performance earned him a spot on the second-team NBA All-Rookie Team. Hachimura joined the Los Angeles Lakers in 2023.
