Welcome the MRG-B5000, based on the first-ever G-SHOCK and crafted with the state-of-the-art metals and meticulous finishes that are the hallmark of the MR-G flagship line.

These breakthrough timepieces are a study in metal craftsmanship. The case and bezel are made of Ti64-based super-hard titanium alloy, while the band is made of another special titanium alloy, DAT55G, that is both three times harder than pure titanium and highly workable.

The bezel top is crafted in COBARION, a cobalt-chrome alloy four times harder than pure titanium. The bezel alone consists of 25 different components, each individually polished for a stunning detailed texture. The state-of-the-art Multi-guard Structure incorporates flat springs and silicone buffers into the multi-component bezel, ensuring outstanding shock absorption to protect the dedicated MR-G module with gold-plated retainer plate. Inspired by ink wash painting and calligraphy done in blue ink, the MRG-5000BA features band screws and bezel components ion-plated in blue against a base of black diamond-like carbon coating.

Touches of blue vapour deposition add bold interest to the watch face, and the iconic brick pattern is a nod to the original DW-5000 G-SHOCK design.

These metallic beauties deliver when it comes to function, too, with radio-controlled calibration and smartphone pairing via Bluetooth®.

Announcing a new addition to the MR-G line. Employing an “ao-zumi” (“blue-black”) motif, the MRG-B5000BA design is based on the MRG-B5000, a true heir to the timeless, iconic design of the G-SHOCK and a timepiece that delivers the strength and beauty.
With a base colour of black set off with deep blue accents, the watch masterfully pairs this fresh, new colour scheme with an innovative multi-component design. This timepiece personifies a worldview of serenity infused with unshakeable strength.

“Ao-zumi”: Projecting pure serenity

The MR-G commitment to the essential qualities of strength and beauty has much in common with the Zen spiritual practice of looking into one’s own true nature. With its “ao-zumi” motif, the MRG-B5000BA presents a look of quiet strength that captures the equanimity of the Zen mindset. Ao-zumi, a form of sumi ink made from a block of blue pigment, is used in calligraphy and paintings. The depth and serenity of its blue tone is considered to have a calming effect. Blue ion plating (IP) applied to the multi-component bezel and band pins accent the black diamond-like carbon (DLC) coating of the case and band, while the face features a negative LCD and a sapphire crystal treated with blue vapour deposition.

Multi-component structure allows for most sophisticated mirror polish ever

In this structure, the bezel is formed from a total of 25 separate components instead of a single piece. This enables beautiful finishes to be applied to surfaces that are ordinarily difficult to polish, including grooves, depressions, and chamfered edges. The band, too, has dimpled portions constructed with separate componentry. Sallaz polishing is applied to each component to create a mirror finish. Skilled artisans manually polish each part prior to assembly to give the watch a stunning, distortion-free finish.

Multi-Guard Structure: The toughness to support a beautiful form

The Multi-Guard Structure protects the module with totally superior shock-absorption. The multi-component bezel and case incorporates four-cornered suspension componentry combining T-shaped bars and flat springs as well as resin buffering.

Innovative, scratch-resistant, super-hard materials: COBARION1 ＆ DAT55G2

The top bezel is made with COBARION, a super-hard alloy that is an ideal base for sophisticated mirror finishes. It boasts a hardness about four times that of pure titanium and a brilliant gleam comparable to platinum. The band employs DAT55G, a titanium alloy with a hardness about three times that of pure titanium that also offers excellent processability. With these innovative materials developed in Japan, Casio achieved an exterior design that ensures both strength and beauty. A special Ti64 titanium alloy is used for the case, case back and buttons.
