Welcome the MRG-B5000, based on the first-ever G-SHOCK and crafted with the state-of-the-art metals and meticulous finishes that are the hallmark of the MR-G flagship line.

These breakthrough timepieces are a study in metal craftsmanship. The case and bezel are made of Ti64-based super-hard titanium alloy, while the band is made of another special titanium alloy, DAT55G, that is both three times harder than pure titanium and highly workable.

The bezel top is crafted in COBARION®, a cobalt-chrome alloy four times harder than pure titanium. The bezel alone consists of 25 different components, each individually polished for a stunning detailed texture. The state-of-the-art Multi-guard Structure incorporates flat springs and silicone buffers to the multi-component bezel, ensuring outstanding shock absorption to protect the dedicated MR-G module with gold-plated retainer plate.

MRG-B5000B has its polished sheen and diamond-like carbon coating for the same brilliant black as the very first G-SHOCK it takes after, but in a lustrous mirror finish. The watch face features an iconic brick pattern and red line in a nod to the original design.

These metallic beauties deliver when it comes to function, too, with radio-controlled calibration and smartphone pairing via Bluetooth®.

In 1983, G-SHOCK hit the scene with its debut watch, the DW-5000C, which featured a shock-resistant structure, later also achieved in a full-metal exterior with the GMW-B5000.
Today, we are delighted to introduce the MRG-B5000 showcasing Japan’s state-of-the-art materials and craftwork with the trademark quality of the MR-G Series.

Sophisticated polished finish realised with a multi-component structure

In order to apply sophisticated polished finishes to the tiniest corners of this model’s complex form, the bezel design had to have 25 components. The band too has dimpled portions constructed with separate componentry. Sallaz polishing is applied to each part prior to assembly to give the watch a stunning, distortion-free finish, right down to challenging spots like recessed portions. In each and every component, the artisanal craftwork shines through.

Multi-guard Structure: The toughness to support a beautiful form

The newly developed Multi-guard Structure protects the module with totally superior shock-absorption. The multi-component bezel incorporates four-cornered suspension componentry combining T-shaped bars and flat springs as well as silicone buffering.

COBARION® & DAT55G: Scratch-resistant, super-hard, innovative materials

The top bezel is made of COBARION®, a cobalt-chrome alloy boasting a hardness about four times that of pure titanium and a brilliant gleam comparable to platinum. The band employs DAT55G, a titanium alloy with a hardness about three times that of pure titanium that offers excellent processability. With these super-hard alloys developed in Japan, Casio achieved an exterior design that ensures both strength and beauty. Meanwhile, a special Ti64 titanium alloy is used for the case, back cover and buttons.

Titanium carbide finish & DLC coating

A titanium carbide finish gives the MRG-B5000D a stunning metallic sheen, and the diamond-like carbon (DLC) coating applied to the case and band of the MRG-B5000B achieves the iconic black hue of the first G-SHOCK model, but now in metal. Components including the buttons and back cover are finished with gold-coloured IP.

Face design true to its roots

A true heir to the distinctive identity of the first-ever G-SHOCK model, the MRG-B5000 retains the iconic brick pattern and red line of the original design. The MR-G logo at the lower left of the face also projects a strong presence.

Solar-powered timekeeping with Bluetooth® and radio control for enhanced accuracy and reliability

The MRG-B5000 features a special dedicated module based on that of the GMW-B5000, with gold plating applied to the retainer plate for the circuit board to reduce electrical resistance.
