Discovering the Allure of Privia: A Quest for Comfort
Kie Katagi is a multi-talented performer who has many bows to her string– not just as a pianist but also as a member of the instrumental band Jizue. Her performances aren't only confined to Japan; she's also taken her talent abroad. Despite a lifestyle that keeps her constantly on the move, she's made Kyoto her home base of operations.
"My journey with the kicked off during my childhood at home. My Mom who was a childcare worker, had one in our house, so to me it wasn't just an instrument; it became a a part of daily life," Kie shares. Now at her Kyoto residence, Privia steals the spotlight, enabling Kie to effortlessly balance work and relaxation in her quest for a feeling of comfort.
This desire to create a sense of comfort extends beyond her public life into her private sanctuary. Choosing Kyoto, a city known for its harmony of tradition and modernity, she deliberately opted for a spacious home. " My home is based around the idea of 'comfort,' and I like to curate things I genuinely cherish, in which Privia takes a special place," she explains.
Kie is particularly impressed by Privia's chic and compact design, dubbing it the most stylish piano she's ever come across. "Having an 88-key piano of this size at home is amazing, especially how seamlessly it fits into my lifestyle” she notes.
Kie also shared some key points from the point of view of a pianist, emphasising the importance the role of touch, tone, and responsiveness plays. In her eyes, Privia not only meets but surpasses her expectations in all these aspects.
Beyond just the realm of musical, Kie likes to embrace a wholesome lifestyle, which contributes to achieving a life with a sense of comfort. Mornings spent jogging along the Kamo River, stopping at her favorite tea shop, and, naturally, the soothing melodies of the piano at home. This is a routine that genuinely brings her joy and a sense of comfort, as she reflects on her harmonious connection with music and the celebration of two decades of excellence with Privia.
