An all-around timepiece reflecting the essence of timekeeping

With minimalist design reflecting contemporary aesthetic sensibilities, the GST-W1000 reimagines the concept of toughness and the philosophy of functional beauty that define the G-SHOCK identity.

The watch’s well-proportioned form is simple and solid throughout. Each detail of the design projects a passion for refinement, from the strikingly smooth surfaces that accentuate the textural appeal of the hard stainless steel, to the crisp, sharply defined edge lines.

Furthermore, its timekeeping is consistently, unwaveringly accurate. The newly developed, solar-powered TOUGH MVT.2 incorporates two separate time-adjustment functions while performing self-regulating control to manage the effects of impacts and magnetic fields to maintain accurate timekeeping at all times. This allows the watch to keep displaying the passage of time correctly without disturbance by any external force.

With every element of its structure, design, and functionality, the GST-W1000 marks every moment with beauty. From business settings to casual wear and outdoor activities, it is an all-around timepiece that transitions effortlessly across every aspect of modern life.

Streamlined design harmonising aesthetics and functionality

This watch exudes a reductionist aesthetic discovered in the quest to express the essence of timekeeping. It all began with the first-ever G-SHOCK, the DW-5000C. Leaving off all extraneous elements led to a streamlined, minimalist form embodying the brand concept of toughness. Building on this design philosophy, the GST-W1000 is reimagined as a metal timepiece for contemporary sensibilities. The pared-down beauty of the metal and the balanced octagonal form fulfil the strong determination to elevate aesthetic sensibility into functional beauty.

Minimalist design, style, balance

The design features smaller lugs that integrate with the bracelet’s end pieces. The innovative exterior design conceals the mounting screws on the sides, creating a refined appearance with seamlessly integrated metal surfaces.

The reductionist philosophy is reflected not only in the streamlined design, but also the carefully balanced proportions. The integrated form provides a stable, comfortable fit on the wrist, giving the watch a more refined proportion than its 45.5 mm case diameter and 13.2 mm profile may suggest.

Balancing form and finishes

The minimalist stainless-steel exterior is treated with four distinct finishes. Mirror and circular hairline finishes are applied to the bezel top. Separate vertical and horizontal hairline finishes are applied to beveled surfaces in accordance with the orientation of their bevelling. Additionally, honing is applied to the slits in the lugs. This meticulous attention to detail elevates the hard texture of the metal into a richness that can be appreciated both visually and by touch.

The flat-design bracelet minimises the clearance between individual links, enhancing both its refined feel and comfort on the wrist. Separately applied hairline and mirror finishes bring out the lustre of the metal. A triple-fold clasp ensures a comfortable, secure fit.

Refined elegance in timekeeping

Incorporating a trio of inset dials, the multi-hand dial embodies a design concept dedicated to marking the passage of every moment with beautiful simplicity. Long, slender hour and minute hands enable intuitive reading of the precise time at a glance, while phosphorescent indexes ensure excellent visibility around the clock. A luxurious lustre, achieved with intricate polygonal texturing and precision detailing, is made possible by the nano-processing technology of Yamagata Casio. Truly an all-around timepiece that seamlessly transitions from scene to scene, the GST-W1000 brings fresh inspiration to daily life.

Inner strength inherited to the core

The very essence of the G-SHOCK toughness philosophy is deeply embedded in the internal structure of this timepiece. Carbon fibre-reinforced resin delivering both strength and light weight is employed for the case, which protects the movement. Additionally, the bezel is constructed from multiple components to disperse impacts, protecting critical components such as the case and connections to the bracelet.

TOUGH MVT.2: Delivering precision to maintain beauty

Strength and beauty come together in refined timekeeping, supported by exceptional precision. Newly incorporated in the GST-W1000, TOUGH MVT.2 is the latest Casio original solar-powered analog movement featuring auto time correction.

Bluetooth® connectivity and radio-wave time calibration ensure precision timekeeping, while solar-power charging provides ample power. Furthermore, the movement incorporates two separate features that detect external disturbances and perform self-regulating control. The auto hand home position correction with shock detection instantly corrects hand positions when the watch detects a strong impact. The magnetic field detection pauses hand movement upon sensing a strong magnetic field, preventing the hands from shifting. Once the magnetic field disappears, the hands automatically return to their correct position and resume operation.

Leveraging advanced digital technologies, the movement delivers precision timekeeping and everyday practicality with even greater reliability - the essence of watch functionality - in all settings.
