An all-new lineup for the MRG-B2000, including “AKA-ZONAE” red

The MRG-B2000 welcomes a new colour option with AKA-ZONAE, a shade of red signifying strength since days of old. The dignified solidity of the watch’s black exterior is accented with this traditional Japanese hue of deep crimson paired with gold colour for a look positively ornate.

AKA-ZONAE

A colour evoking the all-crimson armour worn by elite samurai units in the Warring States period of old Japan. The way it stood out on the battlefield associated it with those led by valorous commanders, including the Takeda and Sanada troops. Red, a colour signifying strength, is used for the MRG-B2000B-1A4.

AKA-ZONAE, striking colour expressive of strength

Red, as a shade of colour signifying strength since days of old, is captured here using the traditional Japanese hue of deep crimson. Applied to the engraved lettering in the bezel and various parts of the dial, its striking impression is paired with the G-SHOCK brand colour black for an expression of strength to span the ages. Components including the front screws and crown feature gold-coloured IP evoking a samurai commander’s helmet and armour.

Dial design infused with Japanese aesthetics

Cuts evoking the look of folding fans/screens adorn the dial’s perimeter. For the index, Yamagata Casio’s nano-processing technology is used to apply a grind-mark finish to sharp-edged forms and recesses to evoke the gentle curvature of a Japanese sword blade. Also, light, strong carbon is used for the minute and hour hands to offer resistance to drops and impacts.

Rust-resistant pure titanium, double-hardened for scratch resistance

The case and band are made with titanium, a material that is light, rust-resistant, and gentle on the skin. The surface is applied with a deep-hardening process and DLC coating which enhances scratch resistance, and finished with a black exterior brimming with presence.

The beauty of metal brought out with Sallaz polishing

A flawless mirror finish is achieved on the case and part of the band with Sallaz polishing, considered the ultimate in polishing techniques. Highly skilled artisans carefully apply the technique by hand to give the watch a radiantly attractive gleam.

Clad Guard Structure for durability and operability

The Clad Guard Structure builds shock resistance into the crown and buttons, ensuring toughness and ease of operation while reducing the case size. αGEL inserted into the head cover of the crown helps to absorb shocks.
